Raoof Hassan confirms contact with government parties, says ‘genuine proposals’ are welcome

Adds that Khan never said he will not engage with politicians

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesman Raoof Hassan has clarified that former Prime Minister Imran Khan has never stated that he will not engage with politicians. He revealed that the PTI is in contact with all political parties except three, and is actively engaging with them.

Speaking on the program “Spotlight” on Aaj News, Hasan emphasized that Mahmood Khan Achakzai, a key figure in the PTI’s outreach efforts, has been given a mandate to engage with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Hasan stated that Achakzai had requested permission to engage with these three parties, and Khan had granted him full authority to do so. He added that the PTI is open to considering any genuine proposals that come from these parties.

He further clarified that the PTI is in direct or indirect contact with every political force in the country. Regarding the possibility of secret negotiations with the PML-N, Hasan confirmed that Achakzai has been in contact with Rana Sanaullah, a prominent leader of the PML-N, and expressed hope that the discussions will progress.

In response to a question about the perception within the PTI that the government is moving towards a military trial of Khan, Hasan said that the party is aware of the government’s actions and their potential implications.
