Judicial Magistrate Karachi East has sentenced a man named Faizan to a total of nine years in prison for sharing his wife’s explicit photos and blackmailing her in Karachi.

According to the prosecution, the accused sent his wife’s indecent pictures to her brother through WhatsApp and blackmailed her.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs90,000 on the accused.

The prosecution stated that the wife’s brother filed a complaint with the FIA, which led to the accused’s arrest and the seizure of his mobile phone.

The phone contained the wife’s inappropriate images. She testified that they got married in 2019 and described how the accused had physically abused her and demanded money.

On the other hand, the accused’s lawyer argued that the phone had been misused.

However, the court noted that the accused did not present any witnesses or evidence in his defense, stating that his actions tarnished the reputation of the complainant and her family. He was sentenced under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) Act.
