Indian Air Force begins inquiry into MiG-29 fighter jet crash in Rajasthan
The Indian Air Force has opened an inquiry after MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in the Barmer district of Rajasthan due to a technical malfunction on Monday.
The pilot successfully ejected before the crash and is reported to be safe, with no casualties or damage to property.
The aircraft was on a routine training mission when it encountered a critical snag, leading to the emergency ejection.
The jet subsequently crashed into a field near Uttarlai, which was unpopulated and caused no further harm.
The plane caught fire during the crash, according to reports from the Indian media.

A Court of Inquiry has been established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Top district officials, including Barmer District Collector Nishant Jain and Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena, have arrived at the crash site to assess the situation.
