Special investigation team formed to probe Karsaz accident involving woman SUV driver
The police have formed a special investigation team to probe the Karsaz accident case that has been registered against a woman SUV driver.
The suspect, Natasha Danish, has been booked and arrested for recklessly driving her Toyota Land Cruiser and killing Imran Arif, aged 60, and his daughter Amna Arif near the Karsaz area on August 19.
Meanwhile, The East-Zone Deputy Inspector General of Police, Captain Ghulam Azfar Mahesar, visited the residence of the victims in Gulzar-i-Hijri, Scheme-33 on Friday.
He offered condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of full legal support, according to a statement from the East Zone police spokesperson. He also discussed the case with the family.
DIG Mahesar vowed that the police will ensure fairness at all levels. He claimed that the family expressed satisfaction with the investigation.
A special investigation team led by SSP-Investigation Aleena Rajpar has been formed. All CCTV footage recordings have been collected and are being examined by investigators.
The blood test report of the female driver is expected within the next 24 hours. Based on the medical reports, more sections may be added to the FIR and the future course of action for the investigation will be decided.
The DIG said the arrested female driver’s family has not submitted any medical report or history to the probe team so far.
He urged others who were injured or had property damaged in the accident to come forward and record their statements with the police.
The DIG assured that the investigation is ongoing and justice will be provided to the heirs of the deceased father and daughter.
