The bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims to Iran suffered a fatal accident due to a reported brake failure, leading to a collision and overturning of the vehicle.

According to passenger Abdul Razaq, he was seated roughly in the middle of the bus and the journey was going smoothly. He had fallen asleep but was suddenly awoken by commotion on the bus. He saw that everyone was distressed and worried. His fellow passenger then informed him that the bus brakes had failed, and the driver was struggling to maintain control of the rapidly speeding vehicle.

Razaq is from the Sindh province of Pakistan and was part of this group of Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Iran to visit holy sites. The ill-fated bus was part of a caravan organized by a Pakistani tour operator company called Caravan Shams.

The passenger claimed that the bus was swerving erratically as the bus helper stood up and told everyone to hold on tight, as the driver was desperately trying to stop the bus and after some time the bus crashed.

The Pakistan representative of the tour company, Tanveer Shamsi, stated that the accident occurred between 10 PM and 11 PM. He claimed that the cause was a failure of the bus brakes, though he stated that the exact technical reason behind the brake failure would only become clear after investigations.

Another passenger shared that the bus had stopped at a checkpoint where Iranian security personnel had searched them for a long time and after passing the checkpoint, the driver suddenly became agitated.

The bus carrying pilgrims from Pakistan collided with shops and overturned, with local authorities quickly transporting the injured to hospitals. The status of some passengers, including Fayaz Ali from Larkana, remains unclear as they have not been located at the identified hospitals.
