Pakistan has demanded that the United Nations resolve the disputes over occupied Kashmir and Palestine, stating that sustainable peace cannot be achieved globally until these conflicts are resolved.

Speaking at a UN Security Council special session on the establishment and promotion of peace, Pakistan’s permanent representative Munir Akram emphasized the need for regional and international support to resolve these conflicts.

Akram stated that for sustainable peace, the issues of Kashmir and Palestine must be resolved, as lasting peace cannot be established globally until these disputes are settled.

He said that the failure to address the roots of terrorism and violent extremism has led to the escalation of conflicts, and in this regard, the international strategy has largely been inadequate, ineffective, and unsatisfactory.

Akram further stated that the consequences of foreign occupation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine are evident.

Pakistan’s permanent representative at the UN emphasized that it is the responsibility of the Security Council to end the ongoing genocide being carried out by Israel in Gaza, and to play a role in resolving these conflicts.

He said that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism in its border areas has been successful due to the support, assistance, and involvement of local communities, and expressed the hope that the discussion at the Council will generate new perspectives.
