Two killed, four injured in accident at Karachi’s Karsaz Road
At least two people, including a woman, were killed and seven injured when the driver of a car lost control and struck several vehicles at Karachi’s Karsaz Road on Monday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Imran Arif and Amina. The driver lost control of an SUV, which then collided with motorcycles and other vehicles, rescue officials said.
The vehicle is said to be a relative of a prominent industrialist. The suspected female driver attempted to flee the scene but was surrounded by an angry crowd and subsequently handed over to the police.
Police confirmed that they have taken two female suspects into custody. Eyewitnesses reported that the speeding vehicle was running over motorcycles as it approached the area near Kangri House.
Authorities added that the vehicle involved in the incident is registered under a private company’s name. Investigations are ongoing with the detained women to determine further details of the incident.
Bahadurabad Police Station SHO Muhammad Naeem confirmed that the woman responsible for the accident was identified as Natasha Danish, a close relative of a prominent industrialist.
According to Natasha’s statement to the police, she had just left her home in KDA Scheme One when the incident occurred, causing her vehicle to lose control.
SHO Naeem added that the suspect was married and related to industrialist Danish Iqbal, against whom legal action is currently being taken.
Police also stated that the accused underwent a medical examination and is reportedly in a state of mental distress. She possesses a British driving license.
