Maulana Tariq Jamil hosts dinner to honor Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem
Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil hosted a dinner at his residence to honor the achievement of Olympian Arshad Nadeem, who won the gold medal in the javelin throw event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
According to a post shared on Maulana Tariq Jamil’s official Instagram account, the dinner was organized to celebrate Arshad Nadeem’s historic feat, where he set a new Olympic record of 92.97 meters, beating India’s Neeraj Chopra to claim the top spot.
During the event, Maulana Tariq Jamil personally handed over a prize to the star javelin thrower, recognizing his remarkable accomplishment and the pride he has brought to Pakistan on the global stage.
Arshad Nadeem’s return to his homeland was marked by a hero’s welcome, with a traditional water cannon salute at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.
Several government officials, including the Federal Minister for Planning and Development, the Minister of State for Information Technology, and the Punjab Sports Minister, were present to greet the Olympic champion.
