Unidentified assailants attack foreign fast-food outlet in Peshawar
Unidentified assailants opened fire on an outlet of a foreign fast-food restaurant on Ring Road within the limits of Sarband police station in the suburbs of the provincial capital Peshawar on Sunday night.
The police said the attackers fled the scene after opening fire at the restaurant. The SP Cantonment stated that there were two attackers, and investigations into the firing incident are ongoing, Dawn reported.
Police officials said other branches of the restaurant had also come under attack by a mob during protests against Israel in the Tehkal area of Peshawar a few months ago.
They said it does not appear to be an organized group, as there were only two attackers, and they cannot say at this stage whether it was an attack by extremists or not.
