PTI and Faiz Hameed are same, says Senator Faisal Vawda
Independent Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that former Inter-Services Intelligence director general Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed and the PTI party are the same, citing that the “matter” would proceed further.
“This is not just about corruption. The top leadership of PTI is also involved. The Faizabad sit-in case is just a small matter, in the coming days the PTI founder and the party itself will face the music,” he told ARY News.
In a shocking development on Monday, the military’s media wing said that Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed has been taken into military custody and the process of field general court martial has been initiated against him about the Top City housing scheme scandal.
“Appropriate disciplinary action has been initiated against the former spymaster under provisions of the Pakistan Army Act,” the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement.
According to the ISPR, the action was taken following the Supreme Court orders into the case.
Vawda termed Hameed’s arrest as a “tremendous decision” for Pakistan, stating that those who have caused harm to the country would be held accountable.
“We should be celebrating now that Pakistan is truly moving towards progress. Our way should be to do politics and let the institutions do their work. Now the process of accountability will be visible in the country,” he said.

The senator added that those who used the PTI founder and Faiz would also be held accountable.
The trial of the May 9 incidents would also be held in the military court and those who even justified the wrong would be held accountable, Vawda claimed and warned other parties involved in “poisoning” that they better start behaving.
“The PTI founder will also make lame excuses. The PTI has now become an orphan politically,” the independent senator said and claimed that 40% of Pakistan’s problems have been resolved and the May 9 and the mutiny cases were about to unfold. “The idol has fallen. It’s all over,” he said.
