Army lieutenant embraces martyrdom after being wounded in Tirah
Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik succumbed to injuries sustained during a firefight with militants in the Tirah Valley on August 9, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced.
The ISPR confirmed that Lieutenant Malik was leading his team against militants in the Tirah Valley when he was critically injured in the exchange of fire. The operation resulted in the killing of four terrorists.
He was subsequently transported to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The ISPR expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Lieutenant Malik, highlighting his bravery and dedication to duty.

The statement emphasized that the Pakistani Armed Forces remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicating terrorism and that the sacrifice of brave officers and soldiers further strengthens their resolve.
Lieutenant Malik, aged 24 years and eight months, hailed from Attock district. He had served in the Pakistan Army for three years and seven months, leaving behind his parents and siblings.
