Former prime minister Imran Khan has given a “deadline” for the end of the government, alleging that the incumbent setup has only two months left.

“I am predicting from jail that the government has only two months left, as it is sinking deeper into the quagmire,” he said in an informal conversation with journalists at the Adiala Jail on Thursday. “I have a lot of time, but your time is running out. They are foolish and don’t understand.”

Khan is incarcerated for more than a year as his legal battles go on. Last month, his party’s hopes were dashed when the national-graft buster and the Lahore police arrested him after his conviction in the “un-Islamic” case was overturned. It was the last legal case.

The PTI has described such cases as “politically motivated”, a charge which the government denies. Khan has also made conditional offers to the army and a conditional apology for the May 9 events.

While speaking about the £190 million case, the former prime minister stated that he would produce a witness in court. Khan refused to reveal the identity fearing the safety of the person.

The PTI founder dismissed the notion that he had sought an unconditional apology, stating that he “is only speaking for Pakistan.”

Khan said that he would not make any deals and the government could file as many cases as it wants. He alleged that some leaders in the government were instigating the army against PTI to eliminate the party.
