Punjab govt launches ‘CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi’ services in Nankana Sahib
After Lahore and Kasur, the Punjab government has launched the “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” service in Nankana Sahib.
The free Wi-Fi service is now operational at five locations in Nankana Sahib, including Masjid Chowk, Tehsil Mor Chowk, Kachhari Phatak, Railway Station, and Railway.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that the service will benefit over 25,000 citizens in Nankana Sahib, and in the first four weeks, citizens have used 250 GB of data from the free Wi-Fi.
Highlighting the initiative’s success, the CM said the use of free internet by over 5 million citizens in Lahore is a testament to the service’s popularity. She has directed authorities to expand the free Wi-Fi to 250 more locations in Lahore.
The CM also noted that the “Safe City Free Wi-Fi” service is available at 10 locations in Kasur, and she has asked to expand the service to 20 more points in the city.
Moreover, the Chief Minister revealed that the Safe Cities initiative will soon be functional in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala, and by the end of this year, the Safe City Authority will be established in 18 cities across Punjab.
