Explosion in Sindh High Court canteen leaves windows shattered

An explosion occurred in the canteen of the new bar room at the Sindh High Court in Karachi, causing the windows of the new bar room and canteen to shatter.

The explosion also caused damage to the walls of the Sindh High Court bar room. The explosion appears to have been caused by a gas leak in the canteen.

After the explosion, the Sindh High Court security team called in the bomb disposal squad, which reached the site and is now working to determine the nature of the explosion.

DIG (Deputy Inspector General of Police) South Asad Raza stated that the explosion occurred around 6:15 am, as the canteen had been leaking gas throughout the night.

He said the explosion occurred when the staff turned on the electricity in the morning. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

DIG Raza said that the nature of the explosion will be clarified once the bomb disposal squad submits its report.
