The graph of street crime incidents in Karachi has not been able to be brought down.

In Korangi and Surjani, two people were injured due to firing by dacoits. In Gulberg, the public apprehended three suspected dacoits.

The enraged people gave the dacoits a severe thrashing. The accused were almost killed at the hands of the public.

In Landhi, the police foiled an attempt to loot a woman. In the exchange of fire to thwart this incident, one dacoit got injured.

The police arrested three key members of a rickshaw gang from the Jamsheed Quarters area. According to the police, the accused used to rob citizens by making them board the rickshaw.

The accused had looted Rs 37,000 from a citizen on July 10.

During the operation, the police recovered weapons and stolen goods from the accused. Further investigation is underway.

Public circles have demanded that the senior police officials devise a comprehensive strategy to counter the street criminals so that a sense of security is instilled in the citizens and they get a chance to breathe easy.

Street criminals are still roaming freely in most areas of the city of Quaid. Using the might of firearms, they encircle and loot the citizens anywhere.
