Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman took the stage in Hall H to deliver an unexpected treat for the audience - a special screening of their highly anticipated film, “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

Dubbed “The Ultimate Deadpool & Wolverine Celebration of Life,” the event marked the official kick-off for the much-hyped movie. Reynolds and Jackman, joined by co-star Emma Corrin, director Shawn Levy, and Marvel chief Kevin Feige, shared stories and reminisced about their previous Comic-Con experiences.

Reynolds reflected on his early days with the Deadpool franchise, recalling how nervous he was during his first Comic-Con appearance. Jackman, on the other hand, humorously revealed a backstage chant that led to an impromptu replay of the film footage.

The screening was met with thunderous cheers from the enthusiastic crowd, many of whom had been rewarded with exclusive Wolverine-head popcorn buckets for their dedication. The audience erupted in applause during surprise cameo appearances, much to the delight of Marvel’s Feige.

After the credits rolled, Reynolds and Jackman expressed their profound gratitude to the fans, with Reynolds describing the experience as an “emotional honor and a privilege.” Jackman called it one of the most incredible experiences of his career, acknowledging the 24-year journey since his debut as Wolverine.

The surprises continued as Reynolds and Jackman invited the film’s cameo cast, including Dafne Keen, Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, Wesley Snipes, and Chris Evans (introduced as the Human Torch), to join them on stage.

In addition to the Hall H event, Marvel Studios put on an impressive 10-minute drone and fireworks show over Petco Park, featuring formations of Deadpool and Wolverine and hinting at upcoming Marvel projects, particularly The Fantastic Four.

Early box office projections suggest that “Deadpool & Wolverine” could shatter records, with estimates ranging from $160 million to $200 million for its opening weekend, surpassing the $132 million debut of 2016’s “Deadpool.”

The film, produced by Feige, Reynolds, Levy, and Lauren Shuler Donner, with executive producers including Louis D’Esposito and Wendy Jacobson, continues to generate immense excitement as it makes its mark in theaters.
