The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are set to kick off this Friday with a star-studded opening ceremony, and pop icon Lady Gaga has been confirmed as the headline performer.

According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, the “A Star Is Born” actress will take center stage during the highly anticipated event, which will be broadcast worldwide.

While speculation had circulated about potential appearances by other renowned artists such as Celine Dion, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, and Aya Nakamura, the full lineup for the ceremony has remained largely under wraps until now.

In recent days, videos surfaced on social media showing Lady Gaga greeting fans outside her car in the French capital, fueling speculation about her involvement.

The pop superstar has been keeping busy with various projects, including filming the highly anticipated “Joker” sequel “Folie à Deux” alongside Joaquin Phoenix, as well as performing her residency show “Enigma + Jazz & Piano” in Las Vegas and embarking on her worldwide “Chromatica Ball” concert tour.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Canadian singer Celine Dion is also set to make a special appearance during the opening ceremony, performing a tribute to the legendary Édith Piaf with a rendition of “L’Hymne à l’amour.”

This will mark Dion’s first public performance since announcing her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome and canceling her tour.
