Seven-member committee formed to probe Bugti clan shooting in Karachi
DIG South Syed Asad Raza formed a seven-member committee on Sunday to probe the Bugti clan bloodbath in Karachi.
SP Investigation South Abdul Rahim Shirazi would convene the committee. The police committee comprises SSP South, SP Clifton, DSP Investigation, SHO Drigh Road, and investigation officers.
At least five people, including former Balochistan governor Akbar Bugti’s nephew Fahad, were killed in an exchange of fire between two rival Bugti tribal groups in Karachi’s DHA VI Nishat Commercial area on July 27.
At least two suspects have been arrested in the violent clash while more than 17 suspected individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the killing, according to police.
“The committee will keep the investigation team updated on the progress of the investigation based on the findings. The committee will have the authority to seek the services of any officer during the investigation,” DIG South Raza said.
