Rain turns weather pleasant in Islamabad, more showers predicted across country
A pleasant change in weather swept through the federal capital of Islamabad early this morning, as heavy rainfall brought much-needed relief from the scorching heat. The downpour resulted in water accumulation on roads, creating a refreshing scene. The intermittent rainfall continued in Kashmir as well.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast heavy rains across the country from today until Wednesday, attributed to the monsoon winds.
The PMD predicts more rainfall today in Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Partly cloudy skies with occasional thunderstorms are predicted in Sindh’s Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Badin, and other coastal areas from today until Tuesday.
Temperatures in Karachi are expected to rise today and Monday. Heavy rainfall is predicted in the city on Tuesday, with a chance of light drizzle or showers this evening or tonight.
The weather will remain hot and humid in most parts of Baluchistan. Strong winds and thunderstorms with rainfall are expected in Zhob, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Kohlu, Lora Lai, Sibi, Lasbela, Awaran, Khadar and surrounding areas.
Yesterday, Quetta recorded a high of 39°C, while Kalat reached 34°C. Other recorded temperatures included: Zhob (32°C), Ziarat (28°C), Sibi (45°C), Turbat (44°C), Gwadar (36°C), and Jiwani (35°C).
