Met Office forecasts more rain in Karachi

Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has predicted more rainfall in Karachi in the evening or night.

With Karachi, the Met Office has also predicted rainfall in several areas such as Umerkot, Tharparkar and Mirpurkhas with areas located in the coastal belt.

Besides Sindh, clouds have covered areas including Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Balochistan.

Hot and very humid weather is expected in most districts of Sindh with rain and thunderstorms expected in Mithi, Sanghar, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Larkana, and Dadu on 23 and 24 July with occasional gaps.

The weather department has reported a prediction of rain in Karachi from July 27.

On Sunday, Karachi experienced a downpour in several areas; however, the humidity and heat increased after the rain.

Also, the electricity went out in several areas, including Korangi, Kati Pahari, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, FC area and Kharadar.

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab visited various places and reviewed the rain management arrangements.

Karachi had once again experienced a spell of rain, with light to heavy showers reported across various parts of the city.

PMD had predicted light to heavy rainfall for Sunday, and the showers have indeed materialized.

The downpour had brought much-needed relief from the scorching heat, with heavy showers reported in areas like Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Malir, Airport, Sohrab Goth, Safoora Chowrangi, Gulshan Iqbal, University Road, and Gulshan-e-Johar, along with surrounding areas. Rain was also been observed in Shahrah-e-Faisal, Sarjani Town, and F.B. Area.
