PTI, SIC hold joint meeting, vow to challenge SC’s ad-hoc judge appointments

Shibli Faraz said that PTI is the representative party of 70% of the country’s population

The joint parliamentary party meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Sunni Alliance Council (SIC) was held on July 18 (today) where PTI leader Barrister Gohar Khan announced that the party will approach the Supreme Judicial Council regarding the issue of appointing ad-hoc judges to the Supreme Court.

He stated that bringing in four ad-hoc judges to the Supreme Court for a 3-year term during the court’s vacation period is an act of mala fide.

Leader of the Opposition of Pakistan Omar Ayub said that their allied party colleagues had held a symbolic march. They are demanding the release of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, and condemning the fabricated cases against them.

Ayub stated that a false case was registered against Bushra Bibi, for which she has been acquitted. He criticized the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team for framing false cases.

PTI leader Shibli Faraz said that PTI is the representative party of 70% of the country’s population. Any ban on PTI will be a countdown to the end of the government. PTI has been, is, and will remain a patriotic party.

Faraz said that since the Supreme Court’s decision, the government is in a state of panic. The Supreme Court’s decision is transferring the mandate to the elected representatives of the people.

He added that the ruling clique has run out of options. He claimed that the government would be sent home in 18 months.

During the meeting, the implementation of the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the reserved seats was reviewed. The meeting discussed four key points and sought the opinion of all parliamentary members.

PTI has prepared a list of 91 National Assembly members and there is a possibility that the list will be submitted to the Election Commission today.

There are indications that PTI may submit a list of its national assembly members to the Election Commission today.

PTI has included 91 national assembly members in its list, but Sahibzada Hamed Raza and Faisal Amin Gandapur are not included. Sahibzada Hamed Raza and Faisal Amin Gandapur had submitted tickets to contest the election under the Sunni Alliance Council’s banner.

The PTI list includes the names of 39 PTI members and 41 independent members.

The meeting of the parliamentary parties of PTI and SIC is being held at the Parliament House, where PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Umar Ayub Khan, Shehbaz Sharif, SIC chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and Sheikh Waqas Akram are in attendance.

Additionally, Ali Muhammad Khan, Atif Khan, Shandana Gulzar, Owais Noorani, Mohsin Aziz, Faisal Saleem, and Humayun Mehman were also present at the meeting.

The meeting discussed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding reserved seats, as well as the arrests of PTI leaders and workers. The ongoing court cases being heard in various courts are also being discussed.

After the meeting, PTI leaders marched from the Parliament House and informed the media about the decisions made during the meeting.

Before attending the meeting, Barrister Gohar Khan said that the purpose of the ad-hoc judges is to influence the Supreme Court’s decision.
