PTI’s Sanam Javed rearrested after discharged from new case
PTI supporter Sanam Javed was re-arrested on Sunday shortly after being discharged from a new case in Islamabad.
“Many people asked us to go to KP House or go to KP, but we decided to go to our house in Lahore and will not hide as we are not terrorists or violated the Constitution,” her husband Attique Riaz told a social media influencer.
He expressed hope that the family would face the cases and wondered how many days the police would keep her wife in jail.
Footage on social media showed Islamabad police women taking Sanam into custody from her house after an Islamabad court discharged her from a case filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). It was a reserved decision on FIA’s plea seeking her physical remand.
After the release, Sanam had left the court with her lawyers. The PTI had shared her pictures with her family and lawyers after the release. But it was short-lived as police arrested her from her house, leaving her family helpless.
According to details prior to the re-arrest, the FIA had presented Sanam in the court of Judicial Magistrate Malik Imran. Her lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq appeared in the court.
