Lahore to get a tram service: Here are the details
The Punjab government has decided to launch a tram service in the provincial capital city of Lahore to facilitate the people and beautify the city.
The approval for the project was granted in a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif during her visit to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) headquarters.
She was welcomed by DG LDA Tahir Farooq upon arrival. The meeting was attended by senior provincial minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, special assistant on political affairs Zeeshan Malik, chief secretary, principal secretary and other authorities.
The DG LDA briefed the chief minister about the department’s work, major projects and performance.
During the meeting, the chief minister approved the project related to re-modeling and beautification of MM Alam Road. Under the project, a tram service will be launched in the Liberty, Main Market, Mini Market and Hali Road areas. Furthermore, adjacent areas will also be revamped.
The chief minister also approved the plan related to a signal-free corridor from Kareem block to the Motorway.

Tram Service Launch Date
The project has received approval from the chief minister. The government is expected to announce the launch date soon as the Maryam Nawaz-led government believes in quick completion of projects.
Lahore Tram Ticket Price
The administration will announce the ticket price for the Lahore tram service after the project is launched.
