Punjab CM orders construction of multiple roads

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the timely completion of all ongoing development projects across Punjab province. She emphasized that special attention should be paid to transparency and quality in these projects.

In a meeting of the Provincial Planning and Development Board chaired by CM Maryam Nawaz, a detailed review was conducted of the Annual Development Program 2024-25. Discussions were held on each individual project, and the CM received detailed briefings on the special schemes of every department, providing necessary directives.

Maryam Nawaz has instructed the PITB (Punjab Information Technology Board) to develop a dashboard for real-time monitoring to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects.

During the meeting, it was informed that ambulance services are being launched at every interchange of the motorways in Punjab. Additionally, 106 development projects will be completed with the support and participation of foreign institutions.

The construction of the 189 km Chichawatni to Layyah road and the 93 km Multan to Vehari road is to begin by the August 13 deadline, as per meeting decisions.

The construction of the Sahiwal to Samundari Road and Bahawalpur to Jhangara East Interchange roads must also commence by August 13th. The construction activities for the Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sargodha road will start on July 31st.

The Chief Minister has ordered the immediate release of Rs400 million for these development projects, and has directed that the remaining allocated funds should also be released based on the utilization of these initial funds.

The meeting reviewed the details of 83 District Development Committee projects, 431 Divisional Development Working Party projects, 282 Departmental Development Sub-Committee projects, and 378 Provincial Development Working Party projects.

The Chief Minister emphasized that all schemes must be submitted by July 15th, and it is the collective responsibility to ensure timely completion of all projects.
