‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ to start in every division on August 14
‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ services would start in every division on August 14, Faisal Yousaf, the Punjab Information Technology Board, said on Monday as the provincial government expands the initiative.
He said this during a meeting presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz where she reviewed the services provided to citizens through the application.
The initiative aims at facilitating citizens by bringing service delivery to their doorsteps, according to the government website. The end-to-end service delivery model hinged on specially trained ‘Facilitators’ who will help citizens from application filling to fee payment to application submission to final delivery.
It would particularly facilitate senior citizens, differently-abled people and women in seeking multiple government services. Services of police, revenue, municipalities, excise, TMA, development authorities and other departments would be available through the mobile application. Services like domicile, e-stamping, birth, death, marriage certificates, property tax, token tax, motor vehicle transfer and new vehicle registration facility could be availed through the Dastak app.
Maryam ordered her team to increase the number of services under the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ mobile application in Lahore to 40 and then to 65 by August 2024. She also called for improving services under the programme besides granting approval to extend their number.
Officials said that citizens could apply for the aforementioned services through an appointment with a representative of the app, web portal, mobile app or call centre 1202.
