King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and Prince William took part in the annual Garter Day ceremony at Windsor Castle. However, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was not present the occasion.

The annual Garter Day service, which marks the start of the busy royal summer period, took place at Windsor Castle today.

While King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince William participated in the traditional ceremony honoring the Order of the Garter, Princess Kate was absent.

Royal sources stated that Kate’s public engagements would depend on her ongoing cancer treatment, and her absence from today’s event as well as the upcoming Royal Ascot festival was due to her health status.

Kate had made her first public appearance since her diagnosis at the recent Trooping the Colour parade for the King’s birthday, but that did not signal a full-time return to royal duties.

Other members of the royal family in attendance included Princess Anne, Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, the Duke of Gloucester, and Princess Alexandra. Prince Andrew, also a member of the Order, did not participate in the parade.

During the Garter Day service, new Companions of the Order were installed, including renowned composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The Order of the Garter is limited to 24 Knights or Ladies Companion, plus the monarch and the Prince of Wales, and recipients are selected for their public service and contributions to national life.

Despite Princess Kate’s absence, the annual ceremony proceeded with the participation of the King, the Prince of Wales, and other senior royals.

The palace announced that the royal family would return to the castle by carriage following the service.
