Injured officers have been shifted to Karachi for further medical treatment

Web Desk Five police officers were killed and two others were injured when a car crashed into a police van on the Quetta-Karachi highway near Lasbela, Balochistan in the early hours of Monday morning.

The accident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Uthal police station, police said. The van overturned after being hit by a car, resulting in the tragic loss of life.

“Three policemen died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital,” said Lasbela SSP Captain (retd) Naveed Alam. The injured officers have been shifted to Karachi for further medical treatment.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed grief over the incident and offered condolences to the bereaved families. He also directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured personnel and prayed for their swift recovery.

This tragic accident comes just weeks after a separate road incident in the province, where three people were killed and 12 others were injured when a fire broke out inside a passenger coach following a collision with a motorcycle.
