Courteney Cox recreates iconic ‘Dancing in the Dark’ moment on TikTok
Actress Courteney Cox recently recreated her iconic dance scene from Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 music video “Dancing in the Dark” on TikTok.
The Friends star, who was just 20 years old when she was selected by director Brian De Palma to appear in the original video, initially had reservations about dancing on stage in front of 30,000 Springsteen concertgoers.
“I don’t not want to be the one to have to go,” Cox recalled in a 2017 interview. “I didn’t want to dance in front of 30,000 people.”
However, Cox’s performance ended up becoming a defining moment in her career, leading to her breakout role on Friends and solidifying her status as a Hollywood star.
In the TikTok video, Cox starts by dancing to the 1980s hit “Smalltown Boy” before stripping off her hoodie to reveal the same Springsteen t-shirt she wore in the original music video.
