Man arrested for killing two minority community members in Punjab

Punjab police have apprehended the individual who was previously accused of murdering two members of the minority Ahmadi community, on Sunday.

The arrest was made a day after the accused shot and killed two Ahmadis hours apart in Mandi Bahauddin, a district in Punjab, said district police officer Ghulam Moinuddin.

The suspect has confessed to the murder of two victims.

Community spokesperson Amir Mahmood said, he does condmens the killing of the victims.

He further stated that the attacker was student at a seminary.

The spokesperson also told that recently there is a rise in campaign against Ahmadi community.

As per stated by Mahmood strick actions to be taken against rising hate campaigns.

“Why is the government not taking any action against them”, Mahmood said.

Pakistan’s parliament declared Ahmadis non-Muslim in 1947. Since partition the community’s homes and worship places have been attacked by those who consider them heredicts.
