LHC orders police to recover Azhar Mashwani’s brothers
The Lahore High Court has ordered the police to recover the two brothers of Azhar Mashwani, a senior member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media team, who been allegedly abducted in Lahore.
The PTI has strongly condemned the alleged abduction and demanded action from the authorities. The party spokesperson stated that the country is under the rule of lawlessness, and the lives, property, honor, and fundamental rights of innocent citizens are not safe.
The spokesperson further demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of this “illegal abduction.”
The brothers’ father, Qazi Habibur Rehman, filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking their recovery. The petition named the Inspector General of Punjab Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) as respondents.
The petition alleges that Professor Zahoorr and Professor Muzaffar were abducted from their home late at night by individuals in plain clothes and police uniform. The abductors did not disclose the reason for their detention.

The petition also mentions that Professor Zahur was previously held in illegal detention for over 100 days. It also adds that Azhar himself was kept in custody for multiple days.
During the hearing, Justice Syed Shabaz Rizvi ordered the IG Punjab and the CTD to recover the abducted brothers and present them in court by tomorrow.
