Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton may stay away from her royal duties permanently, according to reports.

The Duchess of Cambridge has kept a low profile since publicly announcing her cancer diagnosis in March.

“And it appears as though she “may never come back in the role that people saw her in before,” a source told Us Weekly.

“Kate’s recovery is going well. She’s not able to see many people because she is susceptible to getting sick and they don’t want her compromised, but she’s up and about,” the second source said.

Last week, it was confirmed that she will not be participating in this year’s Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 8th, where she would usually appear in her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards. However, reports suggest she may briefly make an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony on that day.

In mid-May, a royal spokesperson revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge had been briefed on a new report published by her early years foundation, the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

However, a Kensington Palace spokesman quickly clarified that this did not mean she had resumed her official duties. It has also been confirmed that the Duchess will not attend the rehearsals for the Trooping the Colour ceremony, which is scheduled for June 15.

“We have been clear that [Kate] needs the space and the privacy to recover right now,” said the Palace, stating, “She will return to work when she has had the green light from doctors.”

“The Middletons have always been very close. The royal family has to be careful about [who they let in], but Kate knows who to trust,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said.

The spokesperson explained that they hope Kensington Palace will provide an update on the Duchess’s condition at an appropriate time, as lessons should have been learned from the conspiracy theories that arose before her previous video message.

Fitzwilliams shared that if no information is provided and months pass, speculation will likely arise again, expressing confidence that Kensington Palace will handle the situation differently this time to avoid a repeat of the previous issues.

The new report was released as a source claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge may not resume her public duties as a working royal for the remainder of the year.

“Lots of people involved in planning need to know what all the principals are doing a long way in advance. I am told that Kate’s diary for this year is empty. There is nothing planned. She may not appear in public for the rest of the year,” a royal insider told The Daily Beast last month.

“It has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is doing a lot better,” the royal’s family friend told Vanity Fair.

Princess Catherine (also known as Kate Middleton) disclosed in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

The cancer was discovered when she underwent a planned abdominal surgery in January, before her public announcement of the diagnosis.
