Bugti announces Oxford University scholarship for Baloch students
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has announced a new graduate scholarship program for Baloch students at Oxford University.
The announcement was made at the prestigious annual Oxford Pakistan Programme Endowment Fund dinner held in Oxford, UK.
The dinner was attended by over 150 distinguished guests including former caretaker Prime Minister and Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor University of Cambridge Professor Kamal Munir, senior education experts, Oxford University administrators, and prominent Pakistanis residing in the UK.
“Higher education plays a crucial role in strengthening democracy and social progress,” stated Chief Minister Bugti.
“This scholarship will be a milestone in training future leaders from Balochistan.”
Bugti emphasized that the scholarship will not only bridge the educational gap but also promote higher education. “It will connect the local needs of Balochistan with global educational standards,” he added.
“This is not just financial aid, but a means of empowering young people from Balochistan,” Bugti further elaborated.
He expressed his gratitude to the OPP and all partners for their role in making this scholarship a reality.
The new scholarship program is expected to provide opportunities for talented Baloch students to pursue higher education at one of the world’s leading universities.
