OGRA announces decrease in LPG price
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a further decrease in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices for the month of June, bringing relief to consumers.
According to a notification issued by OGRA, the LPG price has been reduced by Rs3.86 per kilogram, resulting in a decrease of Rs45.62 for a domestic cylinder.
OGRA has determined the new LPG price based on the federal government’s policy guidelines, effective from June 1, 2024.
The notification states that the price reduction comes after a decrease of 2% in the Saudi Aramco-CP price and a 0.04% decline in the average dollar exchange rate compared to the previous month.
As a result, the price of an 11.8 kg LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs45.62 (1.62%), while the per-kilogram reduction amounts to Rs3.86.
The price of a domestic LPG cylinder was previously Rs2,326.51 in May and will now be available at Rs2,280.89 after the reduction.
The price of LPG for producers is linked to the Saudi Aramco-CP price and the US dollar exchange rate.
