PMD predicts Eid ul Azha date

The official announcement will be made by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee

The preparations for Eid al-Adha are in full swing across Pakistan, with cattle markets springing up in various cities.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has released a prediction regarding the date of the major Islamic holiday, Eid al-Adha.

According to the department’s forecast, Eid al-Adha is likely to be celebrated on Monday, June 17, 2024.

The department predicts that the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah is likely to be sighted on Friday, June 7.

Based on this calculation, if the new moon is sighted on Friday, June 7, Eid al-Adha would fall on Monday, June 17.

The Meteorological Department states that the birth of the Dhul-Hijjah moon is expected to occur at 5:38 PM on June 6, while sunset is expected at 7:20 PM.

The moon is likely to be visible for 72 minutes after sunset. The moon’s age needs to be atleast 19 hours.

It is important to note that the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will officially announce the date of Eid al-Adha in the coming days.
