Mob nearly sets man on fire for alleged phone theft

The man was severely beaten after being tied to a pole

A horrifying incident of mob violence unfolded in Hyderabad’s fruit market, where a young man was brutally assaulted and subjected to an attempted burning after being accused of mobile phone theft.

The disturbing footage of the attack has gone viral on social media.

The incident took place in the presence of hundreds of people, who witnessed the young man being tied to an electric pole and subjected to severe torture.

The mob, fueled by anger over the alleged theft, continued to set the victim’s clothes on fire and extinguish the flames, while he pleaded for mercy.

Following the video’s circulation online, SSP Hyderabad Dr. Farukh Ali took notice and ordered the immediate arrest of those involved in the brutal attack.
