FBR forms joint working group for blocking non-filer sims
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has formed an 18-member Joint Working Group to address the issue of closing non-filers’ accounts.
The Joint Working Group, established to close non-filers’ accounts, includes representatives from FBR, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), and mobile phone companies including Jazz, Ufone, and Telenor.
According to the FBR, the Working Group will examine the matter of blocking non-filers’ accounts and ensure the implementation of the Income Tax General Order.
The group aims to remove obstacles in closing non-filers’ accounts.

Notification of the formation of the Joint Working Group has been issued by the FBR.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court has sought a response from the government by May 22 on the government’s petition against blocking the mobile phone SIMs of non-filers.
