Justice Muneeb to be acting chief justice as Faiz Isa leaves country
Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will be traveling abroad from May 18th to May 25th. In his absence, Justice Muneed Akhtar will serve as the Acting Chief Justice.
Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa will be out of the country from May 18th to May 25th, and Senior Judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is already on an international trip.
During the Chief Justice’s absence, Justice Muneeb Akhtar will take the oath as the Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Supreme Court Judges’ Block at 10:30 AM. Justice Yahya Afridi will administer the oath to Acting Chief Justice Muneeb Akhtar.
Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa will depart for an international trip on Friday.
Supreme Court judges and senior lawyers will also participate in the swearing-in ceremony. Prior to the foreign tour, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa has returned the protocol given to him.
It is evident that Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, will be going to Azerbaijan tomorrow, where he will participate in the Chief Justices’ Conference of ECO countries.
It should be noted that after the Chief Justice, Mansoor Ali Shah is the most senior judge; however, he is also currently abroad. Therefore, Justice Muneeb Akhtar will take the oath as the Acting Chief Justice tomorrow.
