After an increase in water flow due to weather changes, the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has augmented the water supply to Punjab and Sindh.

In response to the effects of climatic variations and the surge in water flow, IRSA convened an emergency session, which also reviewed the status of Tarbela Dam’s reservoir.

During the IRSA meeting, it was decided to maintain the water level of Tarbela Dam at 1,470 feet until June 20.

Furthermore, the water level of Tarbela Dam will be raised by an additional 5 feet, and after June 30, IRSA will be authorized to fill the dam according to its rules and regulations.

IRSA has also increased water supply to Punjab and Sindh. Punjab’s share has been raised by 3.15 percent, while Sindh’s share has been increased by 2.74 percent.

It was revealed during the meeting that Punjab’s water share has been increased to 12.42 acre-feet, and Sindh’s water share has been increased to 8.29 acre-feet.
