Pakistan has unveiled plans to launch another satellite ‘MM1’ into space on May 30 after the success of the country’s first-ever moon satellite ICUBEQ, riding the same rocket with China’s ChangE6 lunar probe earlier this month.

According to a spokesperson of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), the MM1 satellite has been designed with the primary goal of strengthening Pakistan’s communication infrastructure.

Its deployment is expected to play a significant role in establishing an advanced communication network that can effectively cater to the increasing demands of the telecom sector.

Pakis­tan’s maiden lunar satellite iCube-Qamar transmitted the first images from orbit on Friday after completing three rounds of the moon.
