The US woman Naina Kala Paudel traveled to India with her 11-year-old daughter Eunice Biswa to marry her Indian lover, Neema Tamang, but was taken into custody after returning from her honeymoon.

Naina met Tamang through the social media platform Facebook.

The couple started chatting, and love emerged; however, the distance was intolerable for both individuals.

The couple planned to marry, and Naina and her daughter traveled to New Delhi from New York on March 19.

On March 21, she caught a flight from New Delhi to Bagdogra, traveling to Neema Tamang’s house at Bhatpara Tea Garden, Kalchini, in West Bengal.

She married Neema Tamang on April 13 at Grace Valley Church in Bhatpara.

Neema got her wife a fake Aadhaar card made for Naina Kala Paudel and her daughter Eunice Biswa by paying Rs10,000 at a shop in Hamiltonganj in the Alipurduar district to spend their honeymoon on April 21.

On May 7, Naina and her daughter, Neema, were intercepted by the Bilateral Investment Treaties (BIT) personnel of the 41 Corps of SSB stationed at the Pani Tanki border.

Naina Kala Paudel holds an Indian visa that remains valid until 2029, providing her with a five-year duration of stay.

However, her daughter Eunice Biswa’s visa is only valid until March 20, 2025.

The Service Selection Board (SSB) handed over Naina Kala Paudel, her daughter, and Neema Tamang to the Kharibari police.

Police presented the American mother-daughter duo and Neema Tamang before the Siliguri court, requesting a five-day remand.

The police are actively pursuing further action in this case.
