Back-channel contacts underway between PTI and govt
High-level back-channel contacts are underway between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government, sources told Aaj News on Sunday.
These contacts reportedly involve Rana Sanaullah, Mohsin Naqvi, and an unnamed political figure reaching out to PTI representatives. However, sources suggest that Bushra Bibi’s recent statement has disrupted the momentum of these negotiations.
The government delegation, according to sources, has also consulted with the Prime Minister regarding the ongoing talks. According to sources, Barrister Gohar has been given full authority to negotiate on behalf of Ali Amin.
Both sides, sources claim, perceive ‘stubbornness’ as obstacles to progress in the talks. The demand for the immediate release of PTI Chairman Imran Khan is also cited as a major hurdle.

Sources suggest that granting time for further consultation could facilitate Khan’s release. The government, according to sources, has displayed a positive and conciliatory attitude, aiming to de-escalate tensions.
Besides Khan’s release, sources reveal that alternative options are also under consideration during the negotiations.
