The seven labourers who were brutally killed while they were sleeping in Gwadar’s Surbandar on Thursday belonged to the same family as the authorities’ complete identification of the deceased persons.

At least five of them belonged to Punjab’s Mian Channu, 226.74 km away from Lahore, according to the tehsil’s Rameez Zafar.

Seven barbershop workers were killed and one was injured when unknown gunmen entered their residential quarters and opened fire on them while they were sleeping. The area is some 25 kilometres from Gwadar.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

The assistant commissioner went on to add that Asad and Haseeb were siblings and Sajid was their cousin. They belonged to the Chak No 134/16L. Unsar and Shan belonged to Chak No 89/15L while Muqarab hailed from 11/BR in Makhdoom Pur.

He further added that the 14-year-old victim, Adnan, was from the Chopar Hatta area of Tehsil Kabirwala. The whole town was in grief over the teenager’s death. He was in the port city to earn a livelihood.

The suspected ethnic killing comes a month after terrorists brutally singled out and murdered nine passengers in Balochistan’s Nushki.

The bodies of the victims were discovered beneath a bridge in the mountainous area of Noshki, with gunshot wounds inflicted on various parts of their bodies. The deceased individuals were identified as residents of Mandi Bahauddin and Gujranwala.

The father of Asad and Haseeb appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to bring back all people from Punjab home and ensure their livelihoods in the province while their mother sought justice from the government.

One of the relatives demanded the government control such incidents and help the families of the deceased.
