Electricity prices hiked by Rs2.83/unit

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced an increase of Rs 2.83 per unit in electricity prices for consumers in Pakistan.

This increase, effective for the month of March, comes under the monthly fuel adjustment mechanism. A notification for the price hike has been issued.

The increase is expected to place an additional burden of Rs26 billion on consumers.

The price hike will impact all categories of consumers except lifeline consumers, K-Electric consumers, and electric vehicle charging stations.
