Govt announces massive hike in fees for fast-track passports
The Pakistani government has announced a significant increase in fees for fast-track passport applications.
The new fees, which will come into effect on May 8, will see the cost of a 72-page passport jump to Rs18,500 and a 100-page passport to Rs23,000.
In addition, machine-readable passports with a validity of 10 years will have the following fees:

36 pages: Rs16,200
-
72 pages: Rs25,200
-
100 pages: Rs32,000
This latest increase follows an earlier hike in fees for ordinary and urgent passports.

The government says the increases are necessary to cover the cost of issuing new passports and to improve the quality of the service.
