A 70-year-old man married a 13-year-old girl in Swat on Sunday without the girl’s knowledge.

The marriage took place in the Nagoha area of Barikot in Swat. The girl was not present in the ceremony.

The girl, who is in the sixth grade, said that she was at school when she found out that she had been married.

According to sources, the man has eight children and grandchildren. He reportedly paid the girl’s parents Rs1 million.
