Police rescue Swiss tourist stranded in Chitral mountains

Police rescued on Saturday a Switzerland tourist who was stranded in the Chitral mountains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after he lost contact with the officials.

The contact lost with Amandeo after he went to track in the mountains. Police said that the tourist had taken shelter in the cattle house due to heavy rain and snowfall.

In February this year, the district administration and Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA) rescued tourists and their vehicles stranded in picturesque Gabral and Palogah area of Kalam due to heavy snowfall have been rescued safely.

Tourists were stranded as avalanches hit roads in Palogah and Gabral areas due to snowfall. However, locals extended hospitality and care to them.
