Gandapur vows to fight for KP’s rights

Announces monthly stipend for journalists

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has asserted that the province is not begging for handouts but demanding its rightful dues. He warned the federal government not to take their demand lightly, stating that if their rights are not granted, the federation will not find peace in Islamabad either.

Speaking at an event in Peshawar Press Club, Gandapur emphasized the media’s role as a bridge between the government and the people. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the province, including those of the armed forces and journalists.

Gandapur announced a grant of 50 million rupees for the Peshawar Press Club and a monthly stipend of 10,000 rupees for the education of 50 journalists’ children. He also stated that practical work on the Media Enclave project would commence next month.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of securing the province’s rights for its development and vowed to bring the underprivileged population into the mainstream on an equal footing.

Gandapur also highlighted the need for institutional reform, advocating for legislation to curb corruption. He welcomed constructive criticism of his government and pledged to never side with the oppressor against the oppressed.

He reiterated his commitment to securing the province’s rights, stating that he would not hesitate to take them by force if necessary, in which case, no gratitude would be expressed to the federal government. He called upon journalists to support the fight for the province’s rights.

Gandapur concluded by assuring that public taxes would be spent on the welfare of the people and that the province’s treasury would remain stable.
