Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Omar Ayub Khan, Amir Dogar, Party Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, and others, have been granted interim bail until May 7 in a case related to a PTI rally held in Islamabad. The decision was made by the district and session judge Awais Ahmed Khan after hearing the bail plea filed by the PTI leaders.

During the hearing, the counsel representing PTI argued that the case registered against the party leaders was baseless and false. He further highlighted a pattern wherein cases are often lodged against the PTI whenever they organize peaceful rallies. Taking these arguments into consideration, the district and session court approved the interim bail for the PTI leaders. The bail was granted against surety bonds worth Rs5000 each.

This development follows the extension of interim bail for PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan in a vandalism case earlier. Speaking to journalists, Omar Ayub claimed that 95 “fake” cases have been filed against him, including charges of murder, attempted murder, and terrorism. He also demanded the release of all PTI workers, including the former prime minister, and called for the establishment of an independent commission to investigate the events surrounding the May 9 riots when public and military installations were vandalized.
