Solar panel maker Jinko sees impact from fire at workshop in Shanxi province

Solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar (JKS.N), opens new tab said a fire on Friday at one of its silicon wafer slicing and solar cell manufacturing workshops was expected to impact its operations and financial results in 2024.

In a statement on Sunday, JinkoSolar said it is reallocating wafer and cell production among different workshops after the fire, which had broken out at a factory in China’s Shanxi province, to minimize disruption to its manufacturing process.

There were no casualties from the fire and the cause of the blaze is under investigation, the company added.

JinkoSolar, headquartered in Shanghai, builds solar power products from silicon wafers to solar modules.
