28 Levies officials dismissed absence from election duty
District Commissioner Kohlu has terminated the services of 28 levies personnel over absence from security duties during a recent by-election.
The order issued by DC said that a comprehensive security plan was made for the by-elections on April 24 and any official who did not adequately perform duties was warned of disciplinary action.
It added that 28 officials had failed to compy with orders and had not reported on time. Therefore, the officials were terminated over ‘willful absence’.

The list of the dismissed officials includes a naib-risaldar, five daffedars and 22 sepoys.
The DC said that disciplinary action has been launched against the officials. He added that there would be no tolerance for negligence in public duty.
